The Community Liver Alliance, along with an expert planning committee is hosting our a 2-day, in-person Viral Hepatitis Summit to take place in Pittsburgh, PA on July 18-19, 2024.

Goals:

  • Bring together the broad viral hepatitis community including PWLE for meaningful discussion.
  • To identify strategies and best practices to engage people living with HBV and HCV.
  • To successfully reduce disease burden and affect health equity for PWLE.
  • To expand viral hepatitis elimination and advocate for the Viral Hepatitis National Strategic Plan for the US.

Summit Priorities:

The primary objective of this event is to convene the diverse viral hepatitis community to amplify the voices of persons with lived experience (PWLE) and enhance our understanding of the needs of the communities we serve. By engaging PWLE in identifying strategies and best practices, we aim to reduce the disease burden and promote health equity.

Share real-world best practices for meaningful engagement strategies with people with lived experience.

Identify strategies to reduce disparities in access to viral hepatitis care and services.

Explore evidence-based approaches for improving prevention and treatment outcomes in high-risk populations.

Provide training and education on harm reduction, and advocacy.

Attendees will include: PWLE, Providers, Social Workers, DOH Public Health, CBOS, Aides/HIV, Community Health Centers, FQHC’s Rural Health Associations, Pharma Policy Makers, Harm Reduction, OPO’s and Donate Life, D & A Facilities, Centers of Excellence, Advocates, Other Allied Health Care Workers
